Government Employees Demand Formation of the 7th Pay Commission
In a press release, the General Secretary of Puducherry Government Employees Union, Mr. Premadaasan said –
“The Central Government employees unions demanded the acceptance of 11 conditions, including implementation of the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, granting interim relief until the recommendations are implemented, addition of 50% D.A. to the basic pay, and revocation of the new pension scheme and reinstallation of the previous plan”.
As per the plan, protests are going to be held at nine places tomorrow (11th of September), at 7.30 A.M. in front of Rajiv Gandhi Maternity Hospital near Ellaipillaichavadi, at 2.00 PM in front of Indira Gandhi General Hospital, and at 5.50 PM in front of the Secretariat, the State treasury office, district collectorate, Anna Nagar, Directorate of School Education Laspet, Directorate of Higher Education, Thattanchavadi, Government Printing Press, and Villianur Commune Panchayat. The petitions containing the demands will be presented at the end of the protests.
This will be followed by 9.00 AM to 1 PM dharna protest in front of the General Post Office (GPO) on the 19th of this month. There are also plans to conduct a two-wheeler march from the government employees’ union office to the GPO on the 25th of September at 5 PM, seeking the implementation of their demands.
