HC Bench upholds order regularising services of LIC employees
The Division Bench of the Kalaburagi Bench of the High Court upheld the single judge order on regularising the services of 33 employees working on a temporary basis in the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India for nearly 15 years and dismissed the appeal filed by the LIC as non maintenable.
The two member Bench declared that no employer could be permitted to utilise the services of employees under the guise of temporary employment for a prolonged period and thereafter reject their services under the guise of regular recruitment process.
The employees were recruited to different posts between 1995 and 1998.
