1200. SHRI SANJAY KAKA PATIL:
Will the Minister of HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government proposes to make any provision for making the NCERT and CBSE syllabus more up-to-date and inclusive;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether any committee is likely to be constituted for the said purpose; and
(d) if so, the directives given/likely to be given by the Government along with the other details thereof?
ANSWER – MINISTER OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT (SHRI RAMESH POKHRIYAL ‘NISHANK’)
(a) & (b) Syllabus and Textbooks developed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) are inclusive with adequate space given to diverse needs of children including the children with disabilities. NCERT has continuously been updating their textbooks and reprinting the updated textbooks every year by incorporating new priorities and initiatives occurred at the National level. So far as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is concerned, the Board reviews its curriculum every year and makes it more future oriented, inclusive and as per the needs of all the students by introducing new subjects as well as adopting modern pedagogical and assessment practices.
(c) Presently, there is no proposal to constitute any such Committee.
(d) Does not arise.
