Subject: Clarification on measures regarding Covid-19 pandemic, requirement- reg.
Andhra Pradesh Circle vide letter No. WLF/8-18/GDS/Rlgs dated 13.10.2021 sought clarification on the following:
a. Whether the enhancement of Rs. 20,000/- to Rs. 50,000/- to GDS employees suffering from COVID-19 is applicable to only for GDS infected with COVID-19 and taken treatment after the issue of Directorate guidelines dated 15.09.2021.
b. Whether aforesaid Directorate orders are applicable to the claims for COVID treatment which were received at Circle Office prior to the issue o f Directorate orders dated 15.09.2021 and yet to be sanctioned.
c . Whether aforesaid Directorate orders are applicable to all the claims for COVID treatment which were already settled since issue of Directorate orders vide letters no. 20.08/2020-W&S dated 21.07.2020 & 28.07.2020.

2. In this regard, following are stated:
With respect to Point a, b &c: The enhanced financial assistance of Rs. 50, 000/- will applicable to those GDS Employees who have taken treatment after the date of issue of the order i.e. 15.09.2021
Further, it is to clarify that the financial assistance of Rs. 50,000/- is maximum ceiling. All Heads of Circle are delegated with the power to sanction an amount of up to Rs.50,000/- or as per actual bill submitted by concerned GDS, whichever is less. Also. Claim must be settled as per extant instruction contained in letter No. 20-08/2020-W&S dated 21.07.2020 & 28.07.2020.
