OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Revision of rates of subscription under Central Government Health Scheme due to revision of pay and allowances of Central Government employees and revision of pension/ family pension on account of implementation of recommendations of the Seventh Central Pay Commission.
In partial modification to this Ministry’s O.M. of even number dated 9th January, 2017, the undersigned is directed to say that entitlement of wards in private hospitals empanelled under CGHS as contained in Para 3(B) of the O.M. ibid stands revised as under with effect from the date of issue of this O.M. :

Revised Rates of CGHS Subscription as per 7th CPC PDF
The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) is a cashless scheme for central government employees, pensioners and their family members (dependents).
CGHS Monthly Subscription in 7th CPC 2023
Monthly Contribution for availing CGHS facility as per 7th CPC pay levels in the Pay Matrix :
- Pay Matrix Level 1 to 5: Rs. 250 per month
- Pay Matrix Level 6: Rs. 450 per month
- Pay Matrix Level 7 to 11: Rs. 650 per month
- Pay Matrix Level 12 & above: Rs. 1000 per month
CGHS Beneficiaries Lifetime Subscription Table
For serving Central Government employees residing in CGHS covered area, obtaining a CGHS card is compulsory. Pensioners who want to avail CGHS facilities can make contribution either on yearly basis or one time (ten yrs ) contribution for whole life validity.

CGHS Revision of Consultation Charges 2023
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has released a order to revise the CGHS package rates for all beneficiaries. As per the latest revision, consultation fee of Rs. 150 will be revised to Rs. 350 for OPD Consultation and IPD have been increased to Rs. 350/- while the existing consultation fee of Rs. 300 for both NABH and non-NABH-accredited HCOs across all specializations and super-specialties.
CGHS Revision of ICU Charges 2023
The revised charges for ICU charges now include a fee of Rs 750 for non-NABH hospitals and Rs 862* for NABH hospitals includes monitoring, RMO charges, and nursing care in addition room rent is as per the ward entitlement of the beneficiary. As per the new CGHS revised rate, the ICU charges will be Rs 5,400/- (Rs 862 + Rs 4,500/- for Private ward = 5,362- rounded to Rs. 5,400) including accommodation for all ward entitlements.
CGHS Revision of Room Rent Charges 2023
The CGHS has revised the room rent charges wef April 2023. The revised rate of General ward is Rs. 1,500/-, Semi-Private ward is Rs. 3,000/-, and Private ward is Rs. 4,500/-. The referral process under CGHS has also been simplified. Earlier the CGHS beneficiary had to visit the CGHS Wellness Center himself and take referral to the hospital. But now, if the CGHS beneficiary is unable to go, he can send someone on his behalf with his documents to the wellness center. The medical officer can refer the beneficiary to go to the hospital after checking the documents. Apart from this, CGHS beneficiary can also take referral through video call.
