WARD ENTITLEMENT OF CGHS PENSIONERS

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has recently revised the ‘Ward Entitlement’ of the employees, pensioners and family pensioners under CGHS in October, 2022 on the recommendations of the Seventh Central Pay Commission, if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether it has come to the notice of the Government that a lot of pensioners and family pensioners are facing problems and are denied revised entitlement by the empanelled hospitals;
(c) if so, the details thereof and the number of complaints received in this regard, State/UT- wise particularly in the NCT of Delhi;
(d) whether a large number of pending CGHS plastic cards need to be delivered to the beneficiaries on account of revision of ward entitlement and if so, the details thereof along with the time by which all such pendency shall becleared;
(e) whether CGHS beneficiaries are not delivered CGHS Cards with revised entitled and if so, the details thereof along with the steps taken against the erring officers responsible for delayed delivery of plastic cards to the CGHS beneficiaries; and
(f) whether the Government has issued/ proposed to issue clarification with regard to revised ward entitlement particularly in respect for CGHS pensioner beneficiaries and if so, the details thereof?
ANSWER: THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE DR. BHARATI PRAVIN PAWAR
(a) to (f): The ward entitlement of CGHS beneficiaries were revised vide OM No. S.11011/1/2016-CGHS(P)/EHS dated the 28th October, 2022, in partial modification of the earlier OM of even No dated 09.01.2017, as per the details given below:

Ward updation in respect of eligible beneficiaries is made, as and when, the applications are received. The applications for new CGHS cards and the applications for revision of Cards are processed on first come first serve basis. CGHS beneficiaries are issued a printed Index Card of revised ward entitlement, immediately. The beneficiaries have the option to download e-CGHS card through their online CGHS account.
A clarification vide MoHFW OM S.11011/1/2016-CGHS(P)/EHS dated 22.11.2022, was issued pursuant to MoHFW OM dated 28.10.2022.
