Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has recently taken initiatives for providing cashless treatment to CGHS
beneficiaries including Ex-MPs, Pensioners and freedom fighters at AIIMS and other institutes of
national importance;
(b) if so, the details thereof including Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) signed with these
hospitals/institutes;
(c) whether the cashless treatment will be provided for both Out Patient Department (OPD) and indoor
treatment to such beneficiaries at AIIMS and other leading institutes/hospitals of the country and if so,
the details thereof along with the time by which the facility will be implemented;
(d) whether the Government proposes to expand the number of hospitals empanelled under CGHS to
meet the rising requirements of the patients; and
(e) if so, the details thereof along with other measures being taken by the Government for smooth
implementation of the above facility?

(a) to (e) : The following categories of beneficiaries, treatment / procedures/services shall be provided
treatment facilities on credit.
- Pensioners,
- Ex-Members of Parliament,
- Sitting Members of Parliament
- Freedom Fighters,
- Serving CGHS/DGHS/Ministry of H&FW employees,
- Such other categories of CGHS cardholders as notified by the Government,
as per Memorandum of Association (MoA) signed between CGHS and empanelled Health Care
Organizations (HCOs).
Details of 1944 HCOs empaneled under CGHS are available in Public domain, at CGHS website
(https://cghs.gov.in/CghsGovIn/faces/ViewPage.xhtml). The treatment to the entitled class of
beneficiaries is provided on cashless basis and the bills are submitted online by the concern helath care
organizations to the Bill Clearing Agency.
Further, the Government has also signed MoA with All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New
Delhi, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of
Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry and All India Institute of Medical Sciences
located in Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh to provide treatment on Cashless
basis to CGHS pensioners and other entitled class of beneficiaries. No referral from CGHS is mandatory
for availing treatment at these Medical Institutions.
CGHS has a empanelment scheme, where, interested and eligible private Health Care
Organization applies for empanelment under CGHS. The hospitals fulfilling the terms and conditions of
empanelment are considered for empanelment under CGHS. The guidelines for empanelment under
