HOLIDAY HOMES IN THE COUNTRY
SHRI DHARMENDRA KASHYAP:
Will the Minister of HOUSING & URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the details and total number of Holiday homes in the country, State-wise;
(b) whether the Government proposes to increase the number of Holiday homes in the country;
(c) whether demand supply gap is too large and visitors/ travellers are facing huge difficulties in booking rooms due to acute shortage of rooms in prominent locations and if so, the reaction of the Government thereto;
(d) whether there is demand for more such holiday homes for affordable travelling experience of the Government employees; and
(e) if so, whether the Government intend to increase Holiday homes in the country particularly in the tourist places of Uttar Pradesh and if so, the details thereof?
ANSWER: THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI KAUSHAL KISHORE)
(a) : The details of total number of Holiday Homes/ Guest Houses/ Touring officers’ Hostels in the country is at Annexure.
(b) : Yes.
(c) : Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has approved the proposal for construction of Holiday Homes at various prominent locations in the country where there is high demand of rooms.
(d & e): Ministry intends to increase the Holiday Homes in various location of country. In Uttar Pradesh, Ministry has approved the proposal for construction of Holiday Homes at Mathura and Ayodhya.
