VIDYALAYAS UNDER PM SHRI SCHEME
90 SHRI KAUSHALENDRA KUMAR:
Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:
(a) the amount of funds spent on each of the Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) by the Government in the country during the last five years, year-wise;
(b) the total number of operational KVs in the country, State-wise;
(c) whether more amount of funds are spent on these KVs under Prime Minister’s Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) Scheme; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) The budgetary support is provided to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) every year as Grants-in-aid under three distinct Heads of Account viz. Salaries, General and Creation of Capital Assets for opening and functioning of Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs). The funds allocated to KVS during the last five financial years are as under: –

(b) At present, 1253 KVs are functioning across the country. State/UT-wise details are annexed.
(c) & (d) As per information received from KVS, an amount of Rs. 295.36 crore has been received and utilized by KVS for 730 KVs in first phase under the PM SHRI Scheme. The funds are allocated under the broad heads like Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment, Access Infrastructure-Adequacy, Functionality, Aesthetics and Safety, Inclusive Practices and Gender Equity, Management Monitoring and Governance, Beneficiary Satisfaction and Human Resource and School Leadership.
