Andaman and Nicobar is generally closed on all public holidays in all central and state government offices. There are totally 16 public holidays in Andaman and Nicobar and has some special holidays. On 25.10.2022, Andaman and Nicobar State Government has announced the 2023 Holiday List for its UT Government Administrative Offices, Educational Institutions and Banks.

No.111/2022/F.No.M 13/18/2022-GA-Section-Sectt In pursuance of the instructions contained in the Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of Personnel and Training) Office Memorandum No. 12/5/2022-JCA dated 16th June 2022, the Lieutenant Governor of A & N Islands has been pleased to order that in addition to Public Holidays notified vide A & N Administration’s Notification No.110/2022/F.No.M-13/18/2022-GA-Section-Sectt, each Government Servant will be permitted to avail any of the two Restricted Holidays from the list given below during the Calendar Year 2023.
