Expected IDA from Jan 2021
AICPI and IDA
According to earlier Series the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) for September 2020 was 340 points and for October 2020 it is 344 points.
Now, the Government has changed the base year for calculating the AICPI. According to the new Series, the AICPIN for September 2020 was 118, AICPIN for October 2020 was 119.5 points , AICPIN for November 2020 is 119.9 Points, AICPIN for December 2020 was 118.8 points and AICPIN for January 2021 was 118.2 points
Real impact of this change on rate of IDA will be known only on 31-12-2020 when the Labour Bureau releases AICPI for November 2020.
Anyway, nobody will get any benefit as the IDA is frozen till June 2021. And, On 31-12-2020 we will know how much we will be losing from January to March 2021.
AICPI for January 2021 : Consumer Price Index (Industrial Workers) for the month of January 2021 decreased by two points and stood at 340.
Unless the AICPI for February sees a 7 point increase, there will be a decrease in IDA payable from April 2021.

DA Calculation with New Series of AICPIN 2016
All Government employees and pensioners in India are getting 17% of DA and DR of their basic salary or basic pension from 1.1.2020 till 30.6.2021.
The announcement of DA from July 2021 is very important for all Central Government employees and pensioners including Railways and Armed Forces Personnel.
AICPIN New Series 2016=100 for September 2020
Including three installments of additional DA and DR to be added with the July 2021 DA and DR.
For example,
1st January 2020: 21%
1st July 2020: 25% (Expected)
1st January 2021: 29% (Expected)
Total additional DA and DR: 12%+ 17% = 29%
1st July 2021: 29% + 4% = 33% (Expected)
