Post Office Holidays 2024 India
The post office in India observes several holidays throughout the year. In 2024, there will be a total of 17 holidays in which the post office will remain closed. These holidays include both national and regional holidays. The national holidays that the post office will observe in 2024 include Republic Day, Independence Day, and Gandhi Jayanti. In addition to these, there are several other religious holidays that are observed in different parts of India.
Apart from national holidays, there are several regional holidays that the post office will observe in 2024. These holidays vary from state to state and are specific to the region. It is important to note that the post office will remain closed on these days in the respective regions only.
All Post Offices are managed by the Department of Posts (Ministry of Communication and IT). Central Government declared holidays for the year 2024 through the Dopt order F.No.12/2/2023-JCA Dated the 3rd July, 2023 to its offices and the same structure of holiday will be followed in all Postal Circle such as Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal in India, except for some regional holidays in various states.
