CENTRAL GOVERNMENT HEALTH SCHEME (CGHS)

The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) is a comprehensive health care system established by the Government of India in 1954. It provides quality health care services to the central government employees, pensioners and their dependents. CGHS is administered by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and is implemented through its network of CGHS Wellness Centres located in various cities across India. The CGHS operates through a network of CGHS Wellness Centres, Dispensaries and Polyclinics located in different parts of the country. These centres provide high quality medical care to its members and their families through a network of empanelled hospitals and diagnostic centres. CGHS Wellness Centres are located in most major cities and provide outpatient care, including general physician consultations, dental services, laboratory tests, X-ray and imaging services, and other specialty services. CGHS also provides a wide range of medicines and medical devices at discounted rates. Overall, the Central Government Health Scheme is a well-coordinated and efficient healthcare system that provides quality healthcare services to its members. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure that the CGHS is well maintained and to keep its members well informed of their rights and benefits.

New CGHS Rates for 36 Radiological / Imaging Investigations as on June 2023

Govt. of India, Department of Health & Family Welfare has issued order on 19th June 2023, CGHS rates for 36 Radiology/ Imaging investigations have been revised for all CGHS Empaneled (NABH / NABL and Non-NABH / NABL Accredited) hospitals in India. [Click to Read More..]

New CGHS Package Rate List as on April 2023

Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has decided to revised the CGHS package rates for all CGHS beneficiaries. The Union Govt has also simplified the referral process under CGHS for the benefit of its employees. Initially revise the CGHS package rates of consultation fees, ICU charges and room rent.
