Sainik School Fees Structure:

During present academic year i.e. 2022-2023 total fee on new admission is Rs. 1,43,221/- (Gen/Def) and Rs. 1,41,721/- (SC/ST) per annum is payable in advance or two half yearly instalments in June and October. Parents will be required to pay the revised fees and clothing charges as and when the rates are increased by the Sainik Schools Society, New Delhi/Principal during the subsequent years, till the cadet completes his education in this School. Parents/Guardians, who do not deposit fees within one week from the due date, are liable to face expulsion of their son/ward from the School. New entrants have to pay School fees in one instalment at the time of admission only. The fee structure is revised every year by the order issued by Sainik School society.

Central Government Holiday List 2025 PDF

Reservation in Sainik School Admission:

15% of the total seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 7.5% seats for Scheduled Tribes.
25% of seats are reserved for Children of Service Personnel including Ex-Servicemen.
67% of the seats in each Sainik School will be reserved for boys from the state in which the Sainik School is located.
33% seats will be thrown open to boys from other States and Union Territories in the ratio of their male population.
In case the required SC/ST/DEF candidates are not available, the vacancies will be filled in by General Category candidates.

Sainik School Admission 2023-24:

Candidates who are aspiring to get admission in Sainik schools they need to appear for All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE). You can get admission into class VI & IX upon clearing the exam.
The application form for Sainik School admission 2023 is to be open from October 2022 and the exam is scheduled to be held in the month of January 2023.

Sainik School Application Form 2023-24:

For General / Wards of Defence personnel and ex-servicemen / OBC (NCL) as per central list category – Rs. 650/-
For SC/ST category – Rs. 500/-

Highlights of Sainik School Admission:

Class VI question papers will be set in English and all other recognized official languages.
The question paper for class IX will be set in English language only.
Qualifying Marks for General and Children of Defence Services: 25% in each subject along with 40% in aggregate.
Qualifying marks for SC/ST: Not prescribed. Admissions are offered to candidates based on inter-se-merit at the entrance examination within these categories.
300 marks are set for the written exam and 400 marks for class IX. The merit list would be prepared based on marks obtained by them in the qualifying exam.

Sainik School Admission Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit and Eligibility

For class VI
Boys aged between 10 and 12 years as on 31 Mar 2023 (i.e., boys born between 01 April 2011 to 31 March 2013) and studying in V Std in a recognized School are eligible for admission to Class VI.
For Class IX
Boys aged between 13 and 15 years as on 31 Mar 2023 boys born between 01 April 2008 to 31 March 2010) and studying in VIII std in a recognized School are eligible for admission to Class IX.

Registration Process for Sainik School Admission 2023

Four steps are in Sainik School registration process:

Registration: Complete the registration by providing few basic details such as your name, father’s name etc.
Upload Photograph & Signature: You need to upload photograph & signature thereafter.
Make payment: Further you need to make payment of Rs. 500/- for General & Defence category and Rs. 650/- for SC/ST category candidates. The fee includes prospectus-cum-application form.
Upload Documents: You need to upload the following documents:

Birth Certificate: You need to upload Transfer Certificate issued by previous school, extract of date of birth entered in the service documents or certificate issued by Municipal Committee/Board/Corporation.

Domicile Certificate: You need to upload documents as issued by State Government.
Caste certificate: You need to upload document as issued by State Government.

New Sainik Schools in Partnership with NGOs, Private Schools and States

Government is proposing to bring a new scheme for setting up Sainik Schools in the country in partnership with NGOs / Private Schools / States etc. The endeavor is to provide schooling opportunities in “CBSE Plus” type of educational environment by involving desirous Government / Private Schools / NGOs to partner in establishing / aligning their system with Sainik Schools ethos, value system and national pride. It envisages enrolling existing / upcoming schools to be run on the lines of Sainik Schools curriculum. The schools are proposed to be affiliated to Sainik Schools Society. Detailed guidelines and requisite approvals are at an advance stage.
