Vacancy Details
The SSC Constable (GD) Examination 2025 offers numerous vacancies across various forces. The vacancies are Tentative. Vacancies in detail (state-wise, force-wise, genderwise category-wise etc.) are available on the website of the Commission (https://ssc.gov.in> For Candidates > Tentative Vacancy). Any change in the number of vacancies will be intimated through the website of the Commission.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed Matriculation or 10th Class from a recognized board or university.
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 to 23 years of age as of January 1, 2025. (i.e., candidates born not before 02-01-2002 and not later than 01-01-2007).
Age relaxations are available for specific categories:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years (additional to the period of service in the Armed Forces)
Application Process
Online Registration: Candidates need to register on the SSC official website https://ssc.gov.in to generate a One-Time Registration (OTR). This step is essential for completing the application process.
Filling the Application Form: After registration, candidates must fill out the application form with accurate details, including personal information, educational qualifications, and preferred examination centers.
Uploading Documents: Candidates must upload a recent photograph and signature that meet the specifications provided by SSC. Incorrectly formatted images may lead to rejection of the application.

Generate OTR: All the candidates, who wish to apply in response to this Examination Notice and have not generated their One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new website of the Commission (https://ssc.gov.in), will be required to do so as the earlier OTR generated on the old website of the Commission (i.e., https://ssc.nic.in) will not be functional for the new website.
Fill Application Form: Provide accurate details and select the preferred examination center.
Upload Documents: Ensure that the photograph and signature meet the specified guidelines.
Pay Fee: Complete the payment process before the deadline.
Examination Overview
The examination process includes multiple stages:
Computer-Based Examination (CBE): This is the first stage of the recruitment process. It is designed to assess candidates’ knowledge and aptitude in various subjects.
Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates who qualify the CBE will undergo a Physical Standard Test to check if they meet the required physical standards.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Following the PST, candidates must pass the Physical Efficiency Test, which assesses physical fitness.
Medical Examination: Successful candidates from the PET will undergo a medical examination to ensure they are physically fit for the role.
Document Verification: The final stage involves the verification of documents to confirm candidates’ eligibility and qualifications.
Examination Pattern
The SSC Constable (GD) Examination consists of a Computer-Based Examination (CBE) with the following pattern:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: Tests logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- General Knowledge and General Awareness: Assesses candidates’ awareness of current events, history, geography, and general knowledge.
- Elementary Mathematics: Evaluates mathematical skills and numerical ability.
- English/Hindi: Tests proficiency in either English or Hindi, depending on the candidate’s choice.
- Negative Marking: There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. It is essential to answer questions carefully to avoid deductions.
Admit Cards
Admit cards for all stages of the Examination will not be sent by Post. Facility for download of Admit Cards will be provided on the websites of Regional Offices of the Commission as well as on the website of CRPF i.e. http://www.crpf.gov.in. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the websites of the Commission i.e. https://ssc.gov.in, the Regional Office concerned and the Nodal CAPF i.e. CRPF for updates on the Examination process and download Admit Cards for each stage of the Examination. Candidates should check regularly for updates.
For NCC Certificate Holders: Additional marks are awarded based on the category of the NCC certificate. Ensure to submit valid certificates if applicable.
