Holiday List of Meghalaya Govt 2024
In Meghalaya, all central and state government offices are generally closed on all public holidays. Government of Meghalaya has published the list of holidays for the year 2024. The list contains a total of 23 holidays including national and regional holidays. Republic Day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti and Christmas Day are some of the major holidays. In addition, there are many regional holidays such as Holi, Janmashtami and Dussehra and all second and fourth Saturdays would also be observed as Holidays. LOCAL HOLIDAYS
The Deputy Commissioners are authorized to declare a maximum of 3 (three) days only as local holidays within their respective jurisdiction on the following occasions during the year 2024 except for East Khasi Hills District where State Government in GAD (A) will declare the Local Holidays.

- Shad Nongkrem
- Any other Festival of Local significance
SPECIAL HOLIDAYS
Special Holiday has also been declared for all State Government Offices and all Revenue and Magisterial Courts and Educational Institutions in East Khasi Hills District, South West Khasi Hills District, West Khasi Hills District, East Jaintia Hills District, West Jaintia Hills District, Eastern West Khasi Hills District and Ri-Bhoi District on the 22nd June, 2024 to celebrate “Rev. Thomas Jones Day“.
